Celebrate Trails Day

Trail organizations in east Alabama are teaming up with the cities of Anniston, Jacksonville, and Piedmont to host Celebrate Trails Day! Hiking and biking events are FREE, and everyone is encouraged to get outside to enjoy trails!

BIKE – The Northeast Alabama Bicycle Association will host two group bike rides on the Chief Ladiga Trail.

• When – Arrive by 9:30 a.m. and roll out by 10 a.m.
• Where – Riders should meet at either Mike Tucker Park in Anniston or the Jacksonville Train Depot. Both rides will end in Piedmont, and groups may organize return trips or shuttle rides. Parking is available in Piedmont for rider pickup.

HIKE – Wild Alabama is hosting a 4- mile out -and -back hike on the Pinhoti Trail.

• When – This hike will begin at 8 a.m., and return participants to Piedmont by 11 a.m.
• Where – The starting location will be shared with participants who register.

HAVE FUN – Pinhoti Pizza Company, located along the Chief Ladiga Trail in Piedmont, will host a food truck rally and live music beginning at 11 a.m., and continuing until 7 p.m.
